Emma – On Thursday some of us got to present our Glog.
Kaelan – Last Thursday some of us presented our Glog and I did not get to present.
Taylor – Last Thursday we presented Glogster and everybody got to present but some people had to present later like me, I presented Wed. November 21st because I couldn’t find my sticky note.
Addy – When we presented our Glogs on Thursday we had to do an audience feedback and we had to write who the presenter was, our name the listener, but it was hard for me because I had to control the computer for the presenters.
Maddox – Last Thursday we had our Glogster presentation, we had 2 groups.  Mrs. Kosolowski’s in the library and Mrs. Slater’s in the computer lab.  Then we got an audience feedback sheet, we had to write the presenters name, our name, a kind compliment and a helpful hint after they were done presenting.
Sydney – Today we got our audience feedback sheets. We cut them all out and then we walked around the classroom and handed out the sheets to the presenters.  When we got back to our spots we read all the feedback from our classmates and then we glued 6 down on a paper.  The teacher called our names and we read the one that we really liked and mine was from Salina.
Brooke – Thursday we presented our Glogs to half of our classmates.  I was in Mrs. Slater’s group and the other group was Mrs. Kosolowski’s.  In my group I got to go first.
Heidi – Last Thursday we presented our Glogs and I had millions of butterflies in my stomach, I was third in my group to present.
Salina – Last Thursday some of us presented our Glogsters. When we were finished presenting we had to fill out our rubric to find a score out of 45.
Jonathon – Last Thursday we presented our Glogs, but some of us didn’t because we couldn’t get their passwords figured out so today we presented the last Glogster.
Sofia – When we were done presenting, we had to fill out the criteria rubric and you had to mark what you think you did good on and what you needed to work one. Today Mrs. Kosolowski gave us our rubric that she marked and the one that we marked.  The highest mark you could get was 45.
Matthew – On Thursday we had to present our Glogs, but some of us didn’t because we didn’t have enough time.

Science Habitat Website Learning

Taylor – Some animals aren’t perfect for all the weather like a polar bear are not perfect in hot, but they are good for cold because they have thick fur and the arctic is cold and they blend in.

Kaelan – Hawks eat different kinds of snakes.  Penguins need water to survive.

Jolene – A kind of bird needs a certain tree to survive.

Ashley – Camels have water in their stomach and store it in there.

Nathan – When birds poo, the snails eat their parasites because they think it is food then the snails body gets taken over by the parasites and they aren’t in control of their body and makes it easier for the birds to eat.

Emma – I found out that dolphins can go under water for a long time.

Jessica – I found out that there would be a flower, and a bee would suck the pollen of the flower and then the fish would eat the bee and a bigger fish would eat that fish and then a seagull would eat the bigger fish.  This is a food chain.

Heidi – Catusfly bugs eat algae off the bottom of ponds and lakes.

Salina – I found out that penguins don’t have to live in really cold places as long as they have fish.

Addy – I thought that most reptiles lived in the jungle but it said on the computer that most live in the desert.

Tristan – I learned that Komodo dragons have 2 habitats.  One is for the babies and one is for the adults.

Tyson – Alligators can grow up to 15 feet long or bigger.

Salina – When we started Glogster our passwords and usernames are the same that we use to log into the computer.

Taylor – Yesterday after lunch we started Glogster and before we started it we had to do some of our research.  If we finished we had to stare at our computer. When we came to the internet the teachers helped us to get there but the gr 4’s could do it and the grade 3’s didn’t work out too well.

Addy – I feel excited to start Glogster because I think it is cool that you get to put facts, pictures and videos on it.  My topic for research is Nellie Mcclung.

Tristan – After lunch yesterday we stated Glogster. The grade 4’s got on good, but the grade 3’s didn’t.

Science Scavenger Hunt
Maddox – First we went out with our problem solving buddy and this time we hoped it would work and we went around and there was a clue that we had to answer and the answer would lead us to the next clue.  At the end we found out that the answer to the scavenger hunt was habitats.
Sydney – We went on a scavenger hunt and we had our problem solving partners and mine was Sofia.  We went through the clues and on the last one we thought we missed one but it leads us back to the room we started in.
Emma – On a Wednesday we did a scavenger hunt, we went from room to room and it didn’t work for me because I missed one clue.  We got lost.
Stacy – When we had a scavenger hunt we had to go room to room and solve the problem and it was a math problem and whatever the number was you had to go to that room.
Kaelan – We had a scavenger hunt and some of the questions you had to answer was a money question, a pattern question or subtraction question. My problem solving partner was Brooke and at the end we figured out the big idea was Habitats and the three little ideas was soil, plants and animals.
Sofia – On Wednesday we had science about habitats.  Some of the habitats are the forest, rainforest, arctic, mountain, desert, lakes and ponds, ocean, and grasslands.  We did an activity with it and after with animal crackers.  After we did the activity we got to eat the crackers.

Writing Continuum
Sydney – Today we are finishing our writing continuum, we are doing our good copy.  We are writing our goals, to help us with our writing.
Sofia – Our writing continuum is when there is a big sheet that has levels on it and you read it over with your Birds Hill writing and if you got to page 13 and you forgot to do 1 thing then you are on page 13.  We get a blue page you have to write where you are on the writing continuum and Mrs. Kosolowski has to agree with you if you are there.  We do a good copy.
Kaelan – We are doing our good copy of our writing continuum goals and I am on page 11.  My goal is to describe my feelings and my thinking in my writing.
Stacy – My goal for writing is to add more detail in my writing.
Emma – My goal for writing is to use periods.
Heidi – I am starting to use paragraphs to organize my thoughts.

Kaelan – The 3rd and 4th period we did a scavenger hunt and some of the clues weren’t there so we got them in the classroom and after we figured the puzzle out we got salad and Nathan accidentally pushed his chair back and I got dressing all over my shirt.
Taylor – Just before lunch we had a scavenger hunt and the first place we went was room 5 because we had to start off in our classroom.  One group was with us the whole time and that was Heidi and Jolene.  We got to one place and we had to answer a question.  We finished in our room and we ate salad just before lunch and when lunch started I was kind of full.
Maddox – Today we had a big scavenger hunt. First, different kids started at different places in the school.  We had mathematical problems to solve and the number that answered the question was the next room you had to go to.  After the puzzle was built we had to come up with 3 big ideas and we ate salad.
Dante – When we came to school this morning we had a scavenger hunt all around the school.  We got 3 bags, 2 for puzzle pieces and 1 to put the used clues in.  We also got a map of the school and needed a pencil.  We went all over to collect clues.  The three main ideas were soil, animals and plants.  It all connected to our habitats.
