Line and Colour

Jessica - Today we made art about warm colours and cool colours.  Warm colours are like red, yellow, and green, and we put trees in the middle.  They all look very pretty.

Maddox - For art we did warm and cool colours.  We did it with water paint.   I did cool.  We had to put the paint in blobs and after it dried we used black paint and we made a tree.  We made the branches all swirly.

Jolene - The background of mine was bright colours, there was yellow, orange, and pink.

Emma - My colours were all the cool colours.

Taylor - Today we did art and there were cool colours and warm colours.  I did warm colours.  When people where waiting for an open spot to paint they did Daily 5.  I did warm colours.

Sydney - There were cool colours and warm colours.  I did warm colours.  There was brown for the ground.

Ashley - Today we did an art project with pencil crayons and crayons.  We got 4 pieces of paper and then Mrs. Kosolowski turned the music on and we had to see if it was happy, sad or mad music and then we had to draw the lines based on how we felt or our mood.

Nathan - Today in art we made awesome trees and behind them it looks like an awesome sunset and they all look good!

Dylan - We had to wait for the paint to dry to paint the trees on.

Kaelan - We got 4 pieces of paper and we did scribbly lines all over the paper to see how our mood was.  It could be crazy, calm, sad or happy.

Matthew - We made really cool black trees and behind them we put warm or cool colours.

Addy - We listened to music and we took a pencil crayon or crayon to draw what the music felt like.

Math

Kaelan - Today we did math centres and I was at How Many Ways and some of the ways are plus, minus, times, target, division, tally marks, picture, money and a whole bunch of other ways.  We had lots of fun!

Brooke - Today when we were doing math there were 4 math centres and I was at How Many Ways.  My next station is patterning and I cant wait till the next one.

Sydney - Today we had math centres and at the math centre I was at it was called How Many Ways. I choose the number 49.

Maddox - Today we had math centres and I was at patterning.  We first come up with a pattern and then we had to put down the core of the pattern and write what the 15th position or 21st position of the pattern was.  Then we had to put down a missing number and you make yourself your own math question and you fill in the answer and you have to write down your thinking.

Stacy - I was at the math centre with skip counting where you had to go backwards by 5, forward by 25 and forward by 10.  I did one of the hardest ones which was 5,000.

Stacy - I was at the math centre where we did adding and subtracting.  We had to do it 4 times.

Dante - Everybody has done 2 math centres and there are 4 in total.

Matthew – We are writing about our summer holidays, fact or fiction.

Brooke – We got our home reading logs for home reading.

Salina – We need to write 3 pages or more.

Jessica – We are going to get our spelling words for word work next week.

Sofia – We practiced word work with our pretend spelling lists and Mrs. K showed us the activities and the must do’s and may do’s.

Emma – We practiced reading to self and we read chapter books.

Addy – We wrote down the criteria for all the daily 5 choices.

Sydney – Today we wrote in our notebooks about our summer vacation.  It could have been fake or real. 

Stacy – For today we are doing capitals for our title. We were doing neat printing in our notebooks.

Kaelan – Yesterday we practiced reading to someone, and reading to self and listening to reading and word work.
Dante – Next week we are starting daily 5.

Ashley – Yesterday we practiced our must do’s for word work.

Tyson – Today we did fact or fiction of our summer stories and we have to remember to skip lines.  I forgot to skip lines a whole bunch of times.

Tristan – Today in our writer’s notebooks we wrote fact or fiction and we wrote 3 or more pages and we made our covers for them.

Taylor – Yesterday we wrote in our spelling notebooks and did some writing and the first thing we had to do was Rainbow Words, the second thing we had to do was ABC order, the third thing we had to do was 5 Silly Sentences and the last thing we had to do was Word Sort.

Heidi – On the first day of writing in our writer’s notebooks we got to do choice writing.

Dylan – There are may do’s and must do’s for word work.

Maddox – Today we are writing in our notebooks fact or fiction.

Sofia – We do listening to reading on the radio or the computer.

Jessica – Today Mrs. Kosolowski put on a clear coat on our writer’s notebooks so nothing falls off.

Jonathon – Today in our writer’s notebooks we had to print as neatly and nicely as we could about our summer vacations.

Jolene – The daily 5 criteria is up in our classroom.

First Days Back

We made recorder cases. – Nathan

Some of us are finished our colleagues and some of us are not. When we are done our colleagues we put our names on them with stickers.- Jessica
