Festival Celebration
Brooke – The
second week of March on a Monday, we got together with the Palahnuk’s to say
good bye to all the learning we did about the Voyageurs. There were eight stations and throughout the
morning we got to go to each one and I started off with the food centre!
Dante – On Monday,
March 11th, we ended our learning about the Voyageurs with a
celebration of 8 centres. One of the
centres was braiding a ‘ceinture fleche’ and we got to wear them.Kaelan – Monday, we had French centres with Mrs. Palahnuk’s class and one of the centres was snowshoeing.
Ashley – Today we
were finishing up our learning about Voyageurs with Mrs. Palahnuk’s class and
one of my favourite centres was eating.
We ate biscuits, blueberries, toffee and pea soup.
Joseph – There
were 8 centres and Kaelan, Nathan, Dante, and Spencer were in my group and the
first centre we did was make a paper canoe.Sofia – On a beautiful Monday we had our voyageur celebration with cool centres, my favourite centre was snowshoeing.
Salina – On March 11th, we did voyageur centres for our French learning. Everyone was in a group. My favourite centres were snowshoeing because it was fun to try and eating because the food tasted good.
Emma – In the
morning we were doing voyageur centres to end our unit on the Voyageurs and one
of the centres I loved was checkers and colouring a Voyageur scene.
Maddox – We
played checkers because that was an old game that the Voyageurs would play in
the tipi to pass time. We also made a
little tipi out of paper because a tipi was where the Voyageurs would sleep.Jessica – For the first 4 periods we celebrated our festival learning and one of my favourite stations was making the Festival Du Voyageur mascot because we went to festival and then we got to make the mascot.
Nathan – Today we did festival centres and one of the stations was making a canoe and I loved that one because you learned how they made canoes. We made canoes because they used it back in the day to travel over water so they could get the furs.
Sydney – Today,
March 11th, in the morning we did a whole bunch of centres. The first one I did was snowshoeing. I thought snowshoeing was easy. The Voyageurs used snowshoes to get places
easier in the snow.
Addy – On the 11th
of March, day 3, in the morning, we had 8 Voyageur centres and my favourite centre
was the food testing. We were trying out
a meal that the Voyageurs would eat. I
had 6 biscuits and lots of blueberries.Tristan – From 9:35 – 12:15 we did centres representing our learning about the Voyageurs. There was snowshoeing which was like snowboarding shoes on a tennis racket and then we walked around and we learned that was how they had to walk through tough snow. They also had grips on them.
Stacy – For one of
the stations my group did snowshoeing.
The snowshoeing was hard to walk in because each time you tried to walk
they kept getting tangled in the other one.
I fell 2 times.
Jonathon – Today,
Monday, March 11th, we were doing Voyageur centres and my favourite
centre was the sashes because it was kind of hard and kind of easy and I liked
how mine turned out. We made the sashes
because the Voyageur used them to put over their jackets to hold their coat
together and they also wore them around their head to help them carry heavy
packages on their back.
Taylor - This morning
I missed a few centres, so I only did four centres. My favourite was making the mascot because
you could decorate it at the end.
Jolene – At the snowshoeing
centres I was walking and I fell in a hole and when I got out my snowshoe was
off. It was hard to run.Heidi - Today I missed the centres but I think my favourite one would have been the snowshoeing because I never did it and I always wanted to.
